A few days left and Dour Festival will kick off this Thursday. Its going to be a blended edition with musicians joining all over the world. 144.000 tickets are already sold. This is an all time record for the festival. If you take a look at the line-up than you realize why such a success this edition.
Thursday 14/07 our own Buenas Ondas will open one of the stages. In the same stage the by now classics Cyprus Hill will be the highlight of the evening. At Club Circuit Marquee there is again a Belgian product, Arsenal, and the electro-house boy Tiga. But we are looking forward for Dj Sonar and some beatboxing beats by Primitiv. If all of this does sound convincing to you well check out Netsky the rising star, a Belgian who is invading the drum & bass scene in London. He will be sharing the stage with Laurent Garnier. The guy does not need an introduction.
Keep some energy for the next day, Friday 15/07, The Last Arena will be hosting within others Ice Cube and Mogwai. The second is known for taking the crowd through a trippy journey. If this isn’t really your thing well you can always check out Das Pop and Partyharders. Or join us for Ellen Allien and Darko, one of the most important names on electronic music in Brussels. But to me the main act will be On U sound 30 years of celebration, reggae time as you didn’t get to see in long time.
For the late comers no worries as Saturday 16/07 will be enough for you left to party. The biggest reggae band at the moment, Groundation, will bring you in the mood. Johny Clarcke will be playing at their side and in the same stage you will see the legendary House of Pain. Reggae music is not your thing, well check out Erol Alkan and Skepta just a couple of meters further. Or what about Lindstromer, this guy is an excellent live performer. The Herbaliser and Dj Lefto, another Bxl product will be closing the party Saturday. Get ready for some funky stuff.
I can fully understand if you say Sunday 17/07 its time for chilling. Lazy sundayz yeah. You got it all wrong if you do that as some heavy stuff is waiting for you. For example what about the hiphop masters Public Enemy and heavyweight drum & bass old rats Pendulum. If you are more into reggae and world music join us for Shantel, Anthony B and the roots reggae vibes of Israel Vibration. If you want it more skanky check out the formidable Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra or High Tone.
Dour Festival is a blessing for music lovers. Enjoy!
